About Us – Who We Are

The Hamburg International Basketball Academy e.V. (HIB Academy) stands for more than just sports – we combine basketball with education, intercultural exchange, and the individual development of young talent.

Our focus is on international networking through a shared passion for basketball. We regularly organize and support international camps, exchange programs, and coach clinics to provide young players and coaches with new perspectives and valuable experiences – both in Germany and abroad.

Training at the HIB Academy is generally conducted in English or bilingually (English/German). In this way, we not only promote athletic performance, but also linguistic and cultural development, preparing our participants for international encounters and competitions.

A key priority for us is collaborating with schools. In close partnership with the Elite School of Sports Hamburg, we support young talent in both their academic and athletic development. Starting as early as grades 5 and 6, we offer a structured training program,

including participation in the jr. NBA school competition, which provides a gateway into high-level team sports based on international standards.

We believe in the power of sport as a bridge between cultures – and basketball is our common language.
